Kwassa Kwassa refers to the small fishing boats built on the island of Anjouan in the Comoros. The boats are used for fishing – and for carrying migrants across the sea towards Mayotte and Europe. SUPERFLEX’s film and print project documents the boatbuilders and the vessels: practical tools and, at the same time, vessels of hope crossing dangerous waters in a complex geopolitical landscape.
